Title: Secure and Reliable Software Development
Supervisor: Mitropoulos Dimitris
Starting date: 2023-05-01

Biographical Information

Georgios Alexopoulos is a doctoral candidate at the Department of Business Administration of the University of Athens, under the supervision of Associate Professor Dimitris Mitropoulos. He also works as a Systems Architect at the Greek National Infrastructures for Research and Technology (GRNET). Before joining the University of Athens, and after finishing his undergraduate studies in Electrical and Computer Engineering at NTUA, he was a Systems/Software Engineer at Arrikto, where he focused on ML systems.

His research lies at the intersection of systems and software, with a focus on improving the security and reliability of computer systems. He is currently scrutinizing the boundary between scripting languages (e.g., Python, JavaScript) and compiled languages (e.g., C/C++, Rust). On the side, he is also trying to improve the reliability of Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) software.
